That book you mentioned about the signs sounds like it might be a good
read... BUT wouldn't the book then also allow someone with a lousy hand
to pretend a good one if they know how to fake the giveaway signs? Or
maybe it's just me who'd try something like that?

FatJohn, you just described the story of my life. Whether its online poker or the stock market im always either to early or to late. I lost a quarter of a million bucks because i was too stubborn to get out during the crash of 2000, but if there is one thing you need is perseverance. Dont give up dude.

True Admin but its a lesson that im starting to carry over into my life, and in my poker playing. After an event like that you really can start to be able to look at other poker players from outside of your body , i call that a 225,000 dollar lesson.

Ahh, AA, "the kiss of death". I'm pretty sure my buddies eyes light up every time I get pocket AA as I don't think I hide it very well! I ALWAYS get called and lose as they end up with a straight or something ridiculous. I tend to get too wrapped up in the moment and forget that someone else is actually playing..ha!

Pocket AA doesnt guarantee you anything. My aces have been busted many times. Its the expectation and anticipation of you winning with this hand that usually disappoints.

well that happened at least once to all of us...you can`t do anything about it because it is not up to you how the cards are spread.

Yep poker is a game of odds, and that is where the luck factor comes into poker. Luck is a party of poker, but the better player will eventually win in the end.

That would totally bum me out for sure. Sorry, that is just the luck of the draw sometimes.

I think that happens to everyone at some point in time. It might not be at the start of the game, but everyone has folded when I'm holding AA numerous times.
