I remember getting knocked out by a JJ with my AA in a rather important game. Lucky to be quite honest. I know only a small percentage of poker is luck - but in that instance I have no shame in saying it was luck - he didn't even play the odds which essentially means he made a bad play.

Im with delysid on this one, pocket aces never seem to do well with me unless im down the the last 3. For some bizarre reason they just love to be burnt. ive lost more playing pocket aces than i have any other pocket pair and i have no problem folding any card if i think i have the losing hand. and i know what you mean by not knowing how to play them because every table is different. You can limp in hoping for someone to bet and then they luck out so you curse yourself, or you can put a bet in and some loose player calls and you luck out and you curse youself, or you over bet and everyone folds and you curse yourself. Its all fun and games with poker, always educational though.

Yup...reading about this scenario in other locales, it seems people usually 'give away' that they have a 'hot hand'... That guy from the FBI/CIA has a seminar on this, and he says there are alot of signs that people give away when they something like this. I wonder if its the hand that is not as good as we think it is, or more than likely, you are giving it away that you have a purdy good hand, and they call you on it. new owner of RiverFlop.Com
