Poker always serves as a good hobby or a great get together activity. Most people know how to play the game since they are easy to learn. But it is unlikely to spot excellent players at a common poker game.
If you want to learn poker yourself you ought to know that there are a many types of poker games. Each game usually has a different set of rules. But the general idea regarding the game is relatively design.
Common Poker Concepts
A poker game is done with the use of your common fifty card (52) deck. The game could be played by two or more players. You could have as many players as you like as long as the number of cards is enough to cover all the players. A poker game usually begins by betting on the pot. The pot is the money accumulated which the winning player gets to rake. Each player will primarily share the same amount to the pot.
Each player will then be dealt with a number of cards depending on the game that is played. Two cards is most common number of cards dealt on most games. After this player will then decide depending on the cards that he or she possesses. Decisions will be as follows; Check, Bet, Raise, Call and Fold.
To Bet means to wager an amount on your hand and continue on the games. To Call means to agree with the first bet and add the same amount to the pot. To Raise means to add value to the bet to be added to the pot. To Check means not to wager an amount on your card but to check other players’ decision first. To Fold means not to wager and discontinue playing your hand from the game.
Texas Hold’Em
Texas Hold’em is the most popular and commonly played poker game. The game is played by dealing two cards to each player. Each player will then decide on their hands. Betting, Folding or Checking. This is followed by the flop where three cards are dealt face down. Each player could use these cards to complete a five card combination.
This is followed by the Turn where another card is dealt face up. Players will decide after the flop and the Turn. The last part will be the River where another card will be added to the cards on the table. Each player could use any three of these cards to complete the five card combination. |
