ONLINE POKER NUMBERS

After having played poker for some time now with friends and acquaintances, it is expected that you would eventually like to try your hand at online poker.  One of the advantages of online poker is that you can play inside the comforts of your home without having to go out.  Online poker may be similar in some ways with regular poker with your friends.  Rules are more or less consistent but differences still abound with these two modes of poker plays.

Choice of Online Poker

It is for these differences that one could try looking into the stats board of online poker before plunging into a game with the players.  It is basic knowledge that you should match your skill set with the other players to be able to gain a chance to win the pot.  If you try going against better players, you will end up losing more chips than you were initially ready to risk.  However, if you’re able to look at the board stats before entering a room or poker table online, you have gained by knowing what type of players you can be up against.

Stats to Watch Out For

You could start looking out for the pot size average for that table.  You will find over time that a generally low pot size means that there could be just a few players play in a hand and many times, they have the tendency to fold.  You know then that you are looking at a tight poker hand because not a lot of players are willing to risk their chips to up the pot.  Conversationally, loose players tend to bet more and therefore increase the pot money so you get a higher pot with these types of poker players.  Now, this may be the kind of table you’d like to join instead.

The second stat you’d want to check out is the percentage of flop view.  This number tells you if the table is tight or loose.  A low percentage indicates a tight table while the opposite indicates a loose table.  Another useful number is the hands per hour.  A low number of hands per hour means that most hands will stretch the mile until the river and you got players who fold less.  A higher number could mean majority of the hands win preflop.

Knowing these numbers should help you make the right choice when it comes to which table to play at.  There’s just no good playing poker with opponents too tough for you to crack, wouldn’t it?
