Wealth with Poker

I’ve seen World Series of Poker and World Poker Tour on national television.  Have you?  I’m sure you have.  Even though you yourself may not have been a serious gamer, you will most likely stay tuned to the tube to see how events would turn out.

Watching Poker in Action

I’m not a big fan of poker but I’ve seen how intense the players could be.  You see this especially when they’re down to the heads-up stage where the last two opponents face each other after the other players have lost their chips.

Poker is not your usual extreme sport where you gasp in awe or get giddy with the thought of experiencing the sport for yourself but poker played on TV still leaves the viewers spell bound.  You can see how the camera focuses on the facial expressions of the players.  You can see that small bead of perspiration running down the player’s cheek.  And you go say to yourself, how can a person who’s obviously inside an air conditioned room feel warm enough to break into a sweat?

Then the camera trains its eye on the other player who’s wearing dark glasses inside a well-lit large arena.  You try to fathom what could be running through this player’s mind while holding his cards in front of him.  And then you see the cards that he’s got – straight flush.  Okay so now we know what the other poker player has on his hand then the camera swoops in on the first opponent’s hand – one more card and he could have a flush.

Seeds of Interest

By now you’re so into the game that you try to ask questions, unless you know the basics of poker yourself.  Long after the winner has been called out, you start imagining yourself winning the pot money.  That will be the day!

The simple act of watching the game takes hold of a spectator’s senses that you start imagining yourself in the winner’s shoes.  It starts there then you slowly start taking the tiny steps that would let you learn the game.  You won’t be surprised to learn that even casual learners get to enjoy the game initially before they slowly get seriously into it.

Poker is no longer just a past time.  It starts to take on a different perspective when you start seeing the stakes that go with it.  The cycle goes on and when new players start coming in, you’re ready for the rich pickings.
